Pigeon Forge Takes Home 10 Prestigious International Events Awards

The International Festivals and Events Association recognizes excellence in special events around the world.

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee (Oct. 9, 2024)— Amid worldwide competition, the Pigeon Forge (Tennessee) Department of Tourism took home 10 Pinnacle Awards from the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) and Haas & Wilkerson Insurance.

Winners were announced on Sunday, Sept. 29, at the 67th annual IFEA awards ceremony in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Pigeon Forge’s Wilderness Wildlife Week and A Mountain Quiltfest events each received five awards in the category of events with a budget of $100,000 to $500,000.

“This year’s IFEA Awards bring recognition to the caliber of special events that the city of Pigeon Forge produces along with the dedication and creativity of the staff members, volunteers and participants who bring these events to life,” said Jon Elder, the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism’s special events manager.

Wilderness Wildlife Week was recognized for:

  • Best Event Program (silver—tie)
  • Best T-Shirt Design (gold)
  • Best Hat (gold)
  • Best Cover Design (silver)
  • Best T-shirt Design (silver).

A Mountain Quiltfest won awards for:

  • Best Event Program (silver)
  • Best Cover Design (silver)
  • Best T-shirt Design (silver)
  • Best Pin or Button (gold)
  • Best Festival/Event Merchandise, 30th Anniversary Thimble (gold).

Pigeon Forge’s 2025 Wilderness Wildlife Week takes place Jan. 28-Feb. 1 while A Mountain Quiltfest is slated for June 9-12. Information about these and all Pigeon Forge special events is available at MyPigeonForge.com.
