Pigeon Forge Invites Visitors to the Smokies for the Holidays

Pigeon Forge’s Winterfest Celebration brings millions of lights, holiday shows, events and more beginning in November.

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee (Oct. 16, 2024) – Pigeon Forge’s Smoky Mountain Winterfest Celebration, one of the largest holiday light festivals in the Southeast, begins Nov. 7 and runs through Feb. 18, 2025. The illumination of six million lights kick off the city’s holiday season and join festive decorations, holiday shows, seasonal events, and winter fun throughout Pigeon Forge.

A new tradition for thousands of visitors and locals, the Wonders of Light Walking Trail returns to the Pigeon Forge Riverwalk this year. Running along the Little Pigeon River between The Island in Pigeon Forge and the Old Mill, the paved and pet-friendly trail is a free outdoor walk-thru light experience. The trail features whimsical winter scenes and immersive lighting displays. Free parking is available in the city’s Municipal Lot just off Teaster Lane.

Wintertime Fun

Santa Is Coming to Town

  • The Island in Pigeon Forge – photos with Santa are available on select dates from Nov. 22 to Dec. 21 from 3 to 8 p.m.
  • The Old Mill’s Breakfast with Santa – Pottery House Café Dec. 7 from 8:15-9:15m. and 10-11 a.m.
  • The Inn at Christmas Place – guests of the Inn can enjoy Santa visits, storytime with Santa, and Christmas bingo along with other activities beginning Nov. 29 through the end of the year.
  • Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas – photos with Santa at work in his workshop beginning Nov. 1 and ending Jan. 5, 2025
  • Candy Christmas at Crave Golf Club – free photos with Santa and the Christmas Grouch are available on select dates in December.
  • The Christmas Place – photos with Santa are available in Santa’s Haus by appointment only on select days and times throughout the holiday season. Visit the website to schedule an appointment.

Indoor activities

  • Christmas at TITANIC Museum Attraction –TITANIC Museum Attraction will add red bears to the exquisite holiday decorations adorning the ship to honor the children aboard the RMS Titanic through the end of the year.
  • Pigeon Forge Snow – snow tube and play in the snow pit no matter the weather at the year-round winter playground
  • Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition®– the new exhibit is now open at The Mountain Mile and features the artist’s esteemed frescoes reproduced from the ceiling of the famous sanctuary in the Vatican. Exhibit ends March 16, 2025
