Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival Highlights Summer Season Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary
PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee—May 26, 2026—Summertime is one of the best times to visit Pigeon Forge, one of the country’s most popular family vacation destinations. In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, visiting the Great Smoky Mountains this year includes seasonal celebrations, new experiences and special events.
In honor of the 250th Anniversary of America, Pigeon Forge (Tennessee) has expanded its Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival into a two-night event with concerts by two headliners. Country music hitmaker and Army Reserve soldier Craig Morgan takes the stage on Friday, July 3, at 8 p.m., while Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce performs on Saturday, July 4, at 8 p.m., followed by an all-American fireworks extravaganza. The event, which takes place in Pigeon Forge’s Patriot Park (186 Old Mill Ave.), is an official America250 Block Party. First-come, first-served general admission is free as is event parking, which includes shuttles to and from. The event includes children’s activities and food vendors and gets underway at 1 p.m.
Pigeon Forge’s A Mountain Quiltfest welcomes quilting enthusiasts and experts from across the country to the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge June 9-11 for a variety of classes, demonstrations and seminars. Visitors can enjoy a free quilt show featuring hundreds of handmade patchworks along with the free-to-attend vendor mall.
Fridays and Saturdays this summer at Dollywood’s Splash Country shine brighter than ever during Neon Nights. Beginning June 19, the all-new evening experience (7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) brings an after-hours celebration where thrilling water adventures, high-energy music and dazzling color come together for the most electric nights of the season. Neon Nights continues through Aug. 1. (Admission is required.)
Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration begins June 15 and features the new Sweet Summer Nights dance party, fireworks and drone show that celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary. Guests also can experience The Gazillion Bubble Show—Evolution and Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience. (Admission is required.)
Lucille’s General Store (2450 Parkway) is the Parkway’s newest stop for sweet treats, including an all-American line-up of ice cream flavors, along with flavored popcorns, and grab ‘n’ go sandwiches, chicken tenders and biscuits and gravy. Diners will enjoy the outdoor patio, complete with a fireplace and heaters for a year-round experience. (Operating hours vary.)
Vehicle-free Wednesdays in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park continue through Sept. 30. The paved, one-way 11-mile loop offers an ideal setting for walkers, runners and cyclists to experience the beauty of the nation’s most visited national park. Parking tags are required for Cades Cove Vehicle-Free Days. Vehicles parked anywhere within the national park boundaries for longer than 15 minutes require a valid parking tag.
Visitors can get ready for Yogi Bear™ fun beginning June 1 with the opening of Jellystone Park Pigeon Forge (3404 Whaley Dr.), where adventure meets relaxation in cozy cabins or spacious RV sites. Every detail is designed for family fun, including a calendar filled with themed parties, crafts and outdoor adventures. Jellystone Park includes pools, a gem mine, fishing pond, and playground. Yogi Bear™, Boo Boo™, and Cindy Bear™ frequently show up at dance parties, wagon rides, and other daily activities. Reservations encouraged.
Visitors looking for a delicious way to cool off this summer will find it at the new Andy’s Frozen Custard (3605 Parkway). The menu features everything from simple vanilla or chocolate cones to sundaes, concretes (a rich, super-thick dessert blend of frozen custard mixed with candy, cookies, and/or fruit) and seasonal favorites.
