PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (December 2014) – Several upcoming auditions throughout the Southeast offer performers the opportunity to put their talent on display for Dollywood’s award-winning entertainment team.
Dollywood, which recently earned its sixth consecutive honor for Best Shows, seeks world-class entertainers ready to share their passion for performing with guests in the park’s shows and productions.
January auditions in Atlanta, Nashville and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., provide these performers an opportunity to showcase their abilities. Audition locations and dates are listed below. Registration at each location begins at 10 a.m., with auditions from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Performers must be at least 17 years old.
“We’ve been able to find so many amazingly talented people during past auditions,” said Justin Bradley, Dollywood entertainment manager. “We’re always excited to see who we’ll discover at the next audition. Dollywood has been the starting point for a number of impressive performance careers, and I expect we’ll add to that list during our 30th anniversary season in 2015.”
During the open call auditions, Dollywood Entertainment is looking for singers with experience in country, musical theater or pop. They also seek specialty acts in bluegrass and gospel. Positions are not limited to the stage, as technical staff such as stage managers, audio technicians, lighting technicians, costume dressers and more also are needed. Additional details and audition requirements can be found at www.DollywoodAuditions.com.
Many performers have launched their careers in Dollywood’s world-famous shows and productions. Janelle Arthur, an American Idol alum, started her career by playing a young Dolly Parton in Paradise Road at Dollywood. She has returned to the park multiple times following her time on American Idol to entertain guests.
Nathan Watt, who now performs at Dollywood, came to the park via his audition in Atlanta.
“I could not think of a better work environment than the one I’ve been given at Dollywood,” Watt said. “Everyone is so kind and sincere; that only makes me want to work harder. During the audition, everyone had a positive attitude and a smile on their face.”
Kara McDowell was discovered during the 2014 Nashville auditions. She says her first year at Dollywood has provided her with a unique opportunity.
“The Nashville casting call for Dollywood Entertainment was one of the most stress-free auditions I’ve ever experienced,” said McDowell. “Not only was it incredibly professional, but the producers and casting director were kind and attentive to everyone’s needs. I had no idea how many doors would be opened for me in this wonderful company. I’ve shared the stage with great talent. I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world.”
Winner of six Golden Ticket Awards for Best Shows, Dollywood Entertainment provides the perfect venue for performers and technicians to share their skills.
