Pigeon Forge Establishes Donation Center for Flood Victims

City will collect items through Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at LeConte Center Front/Events Entrance

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee—(Sept. 30, 2024)—Pigeon Forge is collecting items for those in the East Tennessee region affected by last week’s flood. There is an immediate need for the items listed below.

“We know the need is great in our community, and Pigeon Forge is working with our neighbors to help them stabilize and begin cleanup efforts,” said Pigeon Forge City Manager Earlene Teaster. “Together, we will walk alongside the folks in this region during this unimaginable tragedy.”

Beginning Tuesday (Oct. 1) morning at 8 a.m., donations will be accepted at the LeConte Center’s front/events entrance located at 2986 Teaster Lane. Collections will continue daily through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Used clothing items are not requested at this time. Signs are posted to direct traffic to the loading dock.

Items needed include:

buckets with lids, available at home improvement stores

tarps

shovels & rakes

trash bags

work gloves

masks, including dust masks

disinfecting wipes

diapers

bottled water

Baby formula, food & wipes

prepackaged snacks

can openers

first aid supplies

personal hygiene items

kitty litter

new socks & underwear

clean towels & blankets

laundry detergent

pet food

kitty litter

hand sanitizer

Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevier County officials are working to provide water to the city of Newport, Tennessee.
